How is BTCWare ransomware distributed?

According to our researchers, the initial version of the BTCWare ransomware was distributed through a deceptive program called Rogers Hi-Speed Internet. It is an obfuscated program that serves as the carrier of BTCWare ransomware infection. Apart from that, this malware can also spread via spam emails and Trojans. Because of this it is important to take note that prevention is always better than cure, to do this, you have to be careful when opening emails from strangers as well as use malicious programs that may seem legitimate even when it’s not.
Follow the removal instructions below to eliminate BTCWare ransomware:
Step 1: Close the browser that opened the ransom note.
Step 2: Open Windows Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc at the same time.

Step 3: Go to the Processes tab and look for BTCWare or any suspicious processes and then kill them.

Step 4: Open Control Panel by pressing the Windows key + R, then type in appwiz.cpl and then click OK or press Enter.
