Download Required scam, also known as Download Required (“Ransomware 2.0; Trojan.Win32.SendIP.15”) scam, is yet another fake alert that tries to convince users to download a suspicious computer program to fix the virus detected in the system. The instant you get redirected to the webpage that displaying the Download Required scam, you will see a long URL as well as a fake Microsoft webpage which is designed very well to make it look legitimate. Clearly, the main goal of the alert is to trick users into installing a program called “Advanced PC Fixer. This program is also referred to as a “hoax antivirus”, meaning to say it is nothing but a useless program that does not really work in eliminating viruses or malware. ⦁ Restart Google Chrome, then tap Alt + F, and select Settings.

⦁ Open the browser and tap Ctrl + Shift + A to access the Add-ons Manager.

Step 6: Tap the Win + R keys to open Run and then type in appwiz.cpl to open Control Panel to uninstall the adware program behind the fake alert.
Step 7: Look for the adware program or any unfamiliar program under the list of installed programs and once you’ve found it, uninstall it.
Step 8: Close the Control Panel and tap the Win + E keys to open File Explorer.
Step 9: Navigate to the following directories and look for the adware installer like the software bundle it came with as well as other suspicious files and delete them.
