What is MoviesFriendly Search Toolbar? And how does it work?
MoviesFriendly Search Toolbar is another program advertised to help users look for movies in a quick way by using integrated search at Movie.eanswers.com. This browser extension is made for Google Chrome browsers. It is found at the Chrome Web Store and its official web page is at www.friendlyapp.com which is a slightly modified clone of Medianetnow.com and Superappbox.com – both of these sites are designed to reroute web traffic to Eanswers.com and Yahoo.
MoviesFriendly Search Toolbar shares some similarities with StreamJunkie Search from Theappjunkies.com, nJoy Movies Search from Njoyapps.com and FilmsApp Home from Superappbox. No matter how useful this program may seem to look, especially for users who are fond of watching movies online, this does not change the fact that security experts consider this program as a potentially unwanted program, a browser hijacker and an ad-supported program or adware.
If you install this extension, although it does not necessarily alter your Google Chrome’s settings like its default home page, search engine and new tab page, it will instruct you to type letter “m”, place a space and then write any keyword – doing this would redirect your search queries to a search engine at f.gomovix.com/search. It also provides another search box containing some movie genre categories in a separate pop-up window. But the thing is it’s actually pretty useless as you can get the same result by simply typing any genre of movie you want whether in Google, Bing or other legitimate search engine. To put it simply, it does not matter what search engine you use – the search results are pretty much the same so nothing is really advanced or useful about this browser extension. The only thing it does is to generate profit to its website and to its affiliated websites by delivering countless ads to its users. Aside from that, it allows its affiliated website, Eanswers.com to make profit by redirecting users to another site:
Search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?hspart=iba&hsimp=yhs-1&type=rjs996_0_OTW_A1&[KEYWORD ]
It does not take a genius to know that MoviesFriendly Search Toolbar is nothing but a useless program that may even put your security at risk as it has a tendency to redirect users not just to its equally suspicious websites but to sites that may contain harmful viruses or malware. Thus, if you want to keep your computer safe from any kinds of threats, you best uninstall MoviesFriendly Search Toolbar from your computer.
