From time to time, you might need to rotate your PC screen.
This is a surprisingly easy process. In fact, you can rotate your screen without installing any new software. The functionality is already built into your Windows PC.
Ready to learn how to rotate your screen on a Windows PC or laptop? Here are the easiest methods to do just that:

Method 1) Use the Keyboard Shortcut

Some software – like the graphics card software from Nvidia and AMD – comes with hotkeys that let you easily rotate your screen with just a few button presses.
The most popular shortcut is using the Shift + Alt + Arrow Keys.
Press those keys and you’ll be able to align your screen in all sorts of different ways.
If that didn’t work, then move onto the next method.

Method 2) Right-Click on your Desktop

Windows has screen rotation built into the system already.
display settings windows 10
To access this feature, just right-click on your desktop and click Screen Resolution (in Windows 7 or 8) or Display Settings (which is what the feature is called in Windows 10).
Under display settings, you’ll see a graphic where Windows tells you how it thinks your monitors are arranged.
To change the orientation of a particular monitor, just click the Orientation dropdown list and select how your monitor is positioned. At the same time, drag your monitor around the screen (either the 1 or 2 monitor) to match how it’s positioned in real life.
Not sure which monitor is which? Click the Identify button below the monitor selection screen and you’ll see big numbers 1 and 2 pop up on your screens. Sometimes it can be hard to tell which monitor is which if you’ve been moving them around a lot lately.

Method 3) Using Nvidia Control Panel

If you have an Nvidia graphics card, then there’s another easy way to rotate your monitors using the Nvidia Control Panel. Right-click on your desktop and click on the Nvidia Control Panel button. Or, right-click on the icon in your system tray and open the control panel.

Look at the left hand menu and click on Rotate display. You’ll be able to easily rotate the display by pressing the rotation buttons or by choosing your orientation from the dropdown list.

Method 4) Use your Catalyst Control Center

If you have an AMD graphics card, then the Catalyst Control Center offers identical functionality.
That Catalyst Control Center can be accessed by right-clicking on the desktop. Then, look for the rotation option, which can be seen under Common Display Tasks. Click rotate desktop and choose the orientation you like.
