If you have a computer that is connected to the internet then it is almost guaranteed that you have had to deal with viruses and virus removal. Viruses come in all different sizes, shapes, and levels of severity. From basic keyloggers to advanced PC hijacking malware, today’s viruses are more dangerous than they have ever been in the past.
Today, we’re going to teach your PC how to fight back against some of today’s most dangerous PC virus threats.

Signs of a virus infection

If you’ve noticed that your computer is acting strangely or not performing as well as it could be, then chances are good that your computer has been infected with a virus.
If you’ve noticed that your homepage has been changed automatically and continues to do so, for example, then you have a browser hijacking virus. These viruses can be removed by simply upgrading your browser. However, some browser hijacking viruses are more complex than that, and some may hijack your Google search results page to direct you towards malicious websites.
If you’ve noticed your computer is running more slowly than usual (like if programs are taking longer to open and respond to your input), then your hard drive might be infected with multiple spyware or malware viruses. In most cases, you’ll be able to remove these viruses by using PC programs like PC Cleaner Pro or your favorite antivirus programs.
If you’ve noticed that your hard drive space is changing frequently without any action on your part, then your PC may be infected with a worm. A worm can eat up your data and cripple your computer by cramming your hard drive full of useless files. If certain programs no longer respond or open (like your antivirus software or other important PC programs), then you are likely dealing with a fairly serious virus infection.
In most cases, antivirus software is able to find and remove virus threats. However, some viruses will be too advanced to be removed by a simple antivirus scan. In situations like these it is often easiest to restore your computer using system restore. If your computer is unresponsive and you are trying to remove a virus or restore your computer, then you might be able to use your computer in safe mode.
Safe mode is a boot up option that appears on screen when Windows starts. For example, your computer might ask you if you want to start in safe mode if you experienced errors while powering it up or shutting it down. Or, to enter safe mode automatically, try pressing F8 while your PC starts up.
If you are still unable to get your computer back to normal then you will likely have to reformat your hard drive. Unfortunately, this means you will lose all of the data on your computer. Most computers will have an option to restore your computer to original or factory settings, and this option will be shown during the start-up process. If your computer does not have this option, then you should bring your machine into a professional.

Anti-virus Software

There are many different options for antivirus software these days, and what you decide to use will be mostly based off of your own preference. You can search the internet for independent reviews of the latest anti-virus software, and then make your own decision. Or, you can choose a brand you’ve trusted and used for years if you’re happy with that program’s performance.
If you’re looking for a program that can clean up your PC and increase its performance, then we recommend PC Cleaner Pro. As one of the most powerful computer optimization software programs on the market, PC Cleaner Pro has helped change the lives of thousands of users around the world. By cleaning up malware and fixing problems throughout your PC, PC Cleaner Pro optimizes every aspect of your PC’s performance.
