If you have been using Windows 10 for quite some time now, you might have experienced tons of issues where the display does not function as expected or when you encounter some black screen issue or when your screen suddenly froze or when either one of your keyboard or mouse does not respond, and a whole lot more issues. Whichever of these aforementioned issues you’ve experienced, it all boils down to one factor – the display or the graphics driver. Although Windows 10 can recover the graphics driver just fine, you actually have the option to restart the Graphics Driver yourself. And in this guide, we’ll show you how exactly it’s done using two options. Just simply follow the given steps below for every give option.
Option 1 – Restart the Graphics Driver by tapping Win + Ctrl + Shift + B
The key combination, Win + Ctrl + Shift + B on your keyboard can help you in restarting the Graphics driver all on your own. Once you press these keys, your computer’s screen will flicker and will display a black screen for a couple of seconds but will be back in less than a second or so. And if these keys did not work out for you, you have to check if the Windows key is not disabled.
Option 2 – Try to remove and update the corrupted display or Graphics driver
If the Graphics driver of your computer has been misbehaving more often than not, chances are, your driver has become corrupted so you either have to update the driver to its latest available version or better yet, reinstall the driver. There are times when old driver is not compatible with the latest Windows Update. As a result, the display or graphics drivers stop responding. To fix this, you need administrative privileges use the Device Manager or the Control Panel.
Device Manager:

  • Tap the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box and type in “devmgmt.msc” to pull up the Device Manager up after searching for its name in your Start Menu
  • Look for the Display adapters and expand it.
  • Right click on the adapter and click on Uninstall and then restart your PC.

  • Restart your PC.

Control Panel:
A lot of OEMs develop software that could grant users more control over the features that run on top of the driver. For instance, Nvidia offers users a control panel where they can optimize a couple of display settings. Once you have removed the driver from the Device Manager, now you can remove the OEM software.

  • Type in “Control Panel” in the search box and click the program the moment it appears in the results.
  • Go to Programs & Features > Add or Remove Programs.
  • Look for the Driver program, select it and then uninstall it.

Note: You might want to install the software and the driver again after the steps you’ve taken to ensure that your graphics card is utilized completely.
