Now, with the help of a few simple steps, you will be able to give your PC the tweaks that it has always wanted.
By simply following the below mentioned steps, you will be able to get your PC tuned up to the same performance standards as it was on the first day you booted it up. Correct your slow computer by simply following the below mentioned steps.
STEP 1 – Clean Up Your Registry
Get into your control panel and clean out the registry. Your registry contains data that maintains each and every event your PC has worked at. Get it cleaned so that it frees up disk space. Apart from the OS built in registry cleaner, you can opt for third party registry cleaners to help you out. These third party system clean up tools are quite effective and can clean out hidden files too that are not required. Ensure that your system cleaner is up to date and is configured for your specific operating system.
STEP 2 – Disk Cleanup
Clean out your Hard Disk. This needs to be done both manually as well as automatically. Manually, you need to uninstall programs and processes that you do not use. Delete old files and folders that are simply occupying up space. Try to keep your boot partition as light as possible. Automatically, you can opt for the disk cleanup tool and get rid of all the temp files and whatever more your PC will present you with. Finally, empty out your recycle bin.
STEP 3 – Adjust Visual Settings
Get into your My Computer properties, go to advanced and check out the performance tab. There you will be presented with a number of options to chose from in being able to disable visual effects. Once that is done, opt to get your Virtual Memory adjusted.
STEP 4 – Scan Your PC
Use an updated AntiVirus program and AntiSpyware program to clean out your PC. Quarantine the infected files and try to repair the damaged ones. Ensure that your firewall is always activated during the scanning process.
STEP 5 – Defragment the Hard Disk
Use the system properties disk defragmenter that came with the original OS to manage your partition space functionality. You may also opt for third party defragmenters to get the job done. Whatever you do, make sure that you are not multitasking your PC while the defragmentation process is running. Always ensure that your defrag tools are up to date with their system updates.
STEP 6 – Update Your Programs
Update all the OS and third party programs you have installed on your system. Restart your PC once and you are good to go.
