What is Identity Protector and how does it function?

Identity Protector is advertised as a security utility tool which is created by Pcvark Software Pvt. Ltd. as a trial program which you can download and install as well as run it with very limited functionality. This program claims to protect your passwords and identity by establishing some sort of vault where you can store your credentials for several services like social media, banking portals, as well as IM platforms. It has a trial version which can be downloaded at identityprotector.co and it can also be obtained as a part of a software bundle.
Developers of Identity Protector describe the program as “a tool to find and secure your personal information on your computer, as well as organize your passwords in one vault across browsers and lock them securely with a Master Key. Your identity is always protected and you’ll never forget your password again.” It may sound pretty convincing, especially for users who tend to forget their passwords and other credentials, however, it is classified as a potentially unwanted program which could harm your computer as well as the information you stored on the program’s so-called vault.
One of the worrisome things about this app is that it tends to give incorrect detections and then ask users to purchase the product before it can fix the detected privacy issues. The subscription for the premium services of the program costs $39.95 a month at the time of the research. This amount is definitely too huge considering the fact that it is not even proven to be effective – the only thing for sure is that it is an unwanted program that could bring potential harm to your computer and important information.
