If you’re a Windows 8 user, then you’ve likely encountered bloatware on your computer or tablet.
Bloatware includes pre-installed software from your manufacturer as well as Windows. Most people won’t need to use these programs at any point, which is why they’re called “bloatware”: they bloat your system and slow it down.
Today, I’m going to show you how to quickly and easily remove Windows 8 bloatware from any tablet, laptop, or desktop PC:
Step 1) Go to the Start screen and type PowerShell
windows 8 bloatware
Step 2) Press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to run the PowerShell application as an administrator
Step 3) Type this command into the PowerShell application:
Get-AppxPackage | Remove-AppxPackage
powershell windows 8
That single line will remove all preinstalled bloatware software from your Windows 8 machine. All your native Windows 8 apps will be removed, giving you a totally clean Windows 8 installation to work with.
Removing bloatware from Windows 8 is surprisingly easy. As far as I know, Windows 8 is the only operating system that lets users wipe out all preinstalled applications with a single command. Not bad!
