What is Isasus? And how does it work?

Isasus is a Google Chrome extension that may look like a reliable and useful tool but the truth is, it’s not. In fact, it is categorized as an adware program which is solely dedicated to delivering you ads and flooding your browser with them whenever you browse the internet. If installed, Isasus will alter your Google Chrome’s settings so that the searches you’ll be making will be redirected to multiple suspicious sites and then eventually display search results from Rambler.ru. The searches will first pull up search results from http://supesearches.co/jhr4er.html?q= and then you’ll be redirected again to Nova.rambler.ru.
Isasus also uses java script alerts to aggressively promote the installation of this shady extension. The java script alerts get aggressive to the point where it won’t let you exit the tab unless you install this extension. Another annoying thing about this extension is the constant popping up of ads that could almost occupy your entire browser’s screen which isn’t surprising given the fact that Isasus is an adware program. And just like all adware program, its main purpose is to generate revenue from these ads.
One of the worrisome traits of this extension is its ability to monitor users’ activities and collects information about them. So installing this app is like having a spy that keeps track of all your online moves. It’s important to note that the information gathered is shared with third parties to deliver you sponsored contents that matches your preferences and interests to lure you into clicking those ads which you shouldn’t no matter how tempting the ad can be.

How does Isasus spread online?

This shady extension has lots of distribution techniques before and thankfully it has toned down a notch. It used to be distributed at Sloix.com, and on the Chrome Web Store which are both taken down for some time now. However, it is still distributed on one of the common ways to distribute hijackers – software bundling. Many programs, unwanted ones included, are combined into a single package distributed on free sharing sites. If you install software bundles, you must always opt for the Custom or Advanced installation setup instead of the quick or the standard one so that you’ll get to remove unwanted programs and install the only program you want to install. And just to be on the safe side, it would be better if you download a program from its official distribution site instead of third party sources.
