Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag brought the popular series to a totally new environment: pirate-infested islands in the Caribbean.
It’s an awesome game and now you can play a similar game online for free.
Ubisoft recently teamed up with Microsoft to create a free browser-based version of Assassin’s Creed called Assassin’s Creed Pirates.
The browser version is available for Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Internet Explorer. Unlike what most people thought when reading this article, Microsoft did not team up with Ubisoft to exclusively release the game for Internet Explorer – thanks Microsoft.
Here’s what you get with Assassin’s Creed Pirates:
-A stripped down, visually similar version of the Assassin’s Creed Pirate mobile app, which was itself a stripped down, visually similar version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
-No pirate battles, unlike the mobile app and the video game
-Instead of combat, players can race ships through familiar settings while avoiding obstacles and trying to get the best time
-Players can customize their weather with 9 different weather options
-Leaderboards and friend invitations are available and you can challenge your friends to beat your score
There’s also a mobile version of Assassin’s Creed Pirates available for $5. It was released last December. At the time that app was released, the developers stated there would never be a desktop version ofthe game.
I guess they were wrong.

It’s fun, but not nearly as fun as Black Flag. Still, if you’re craving some Black Flag while you’re stuck on a desktop computer, then the Assassin’s Creed Pirates racing game is as good as you’re going to get. It’s surprisingly challenging but unfortunately, it doesn’t look like sea shanties are included.
