From November 20 to November 29, 2015, Microsoft is heavily discounting apps, games, music, and movies in the Windows Store.
Microsoft announced the news on its blog here.
The 10 day sale (get it – because of Windows 10?) will discount many popular items to just 10 cents (once again, to celebrate Windows 10).
In the initial announcement, Microsoft claimed that,
“For the next 10 days, you can enjoy over 1,000 of the latest Hollywood movies, blockbuster music, must-have apps, and addictive games – for only 10 cents each.”
The sale will change every day with new surprises.
At the time of writing, the store was featuring 10 cent sales on things like Justin Bieber’s new single What Do You Mean as well as a Jurassic World movie rental (normally $5.99).
Dozens of other games, movies, songs, albums, and apps were also available through the 10 cent deal.
Recommended 10 Cent Software
You probably already know best which types of music and movies you like, so I’ll let you figure those deals out for yourself. But the software – like the applications and games – reveal a few hidden gems. Recommended software programs include:
-UnZip: 10 cents for an app that acts as a powerful archiver and excellent file compression tool with support for 12 different formats, including ZIP, GSIP, BZIP2, 7Z, LZMA, CPIO, and LZ4.
KVADPhoto+ Pro: This is a great photo editing tool that features all-in-one image processing with filters, color editing, effects, text tools, enhancement tools, and more. For 10 cents, it’s a steal.
Back to the Drawing Board: You’re not going to find good 3D CAD software for 10 cents. But you will find Back to the Drawing Board, a 2D CAD and technical drawing tool that can be used to create 2D plans, elevations, details, schematics, diagrams, charts, and more.
-Angry Birds Star Wars: Angry Birds isn’t for everyone. But Angry Birds Star Wars is a great deal at 10 cents, which is a few dollars (and a few hundred percent) less than its retail price.
-Mahjong Secrets HD: You a mahjong fan? Mahjong Secrets HD is one of the best mahjong games for Windows 10 (although admittedly, the competition isn’t that strong).
As part of that announcement, Microsoft also claimed that there are over 110 million devices running Windows 10 and that the November update made Windows 10 “better than ever’.
Microsoft is clearly kicking off Black Friday a little earlier. View the full sale here. If you’re on Windows 10, you can also access the store directly from your desktop (open the Start menu and click the big Store tile).
