Finally, PC gamers have received the news they’ve been waiting to hear for so long: Grand Theft Auto V is officially coming to PC.
Better yet, GTA V will receive numerous graphical upgrades and gameplay enhancements before it arrives on PC. It’s also coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4, and all of the platforms will receive the same performance enhancements.
That means longer view distances, more populated cities, higher resolutions, and overall better graphics.
Here’s the bad news: you’ll need to wait until Fall 2014 to buy it.
Rockstar is taking its time developing the PC version of GTA V and clearly wants it to be more polished than GTA IV, which had insanely high performance requirements and barely runs smooth on today’s high powered PCs.
Another cool feature is that users can transfer their progress from the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of GTA V to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions. So you don’t have to totally re-do the campaign if you don’t want to.

But let’s be honest: who cares about fancy graphics, more populated cities, and anti-aliasing? What we really care about is mods.
The modding potential for GTA V is unlimited. GTA IV was difficult to mod and it still produced some of the world’s most amazingly hilarious modifications.

Check out this Toy Story mod for GTA IV, for example, and try to wipe a smile off your face. The modding scene for GTA IV is truly amazing. It’s been years since a GTA on PC and GTA V will likely inspire legions of amazing mods.
I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait for this fall. Rockstar didn’t specify a release date but we’ll update you as soon as that release date becomes available.
