Dropbox seems to be the world’s most popular cloud storage service. But there are plenty of cool things you can do with Dropbox that many users were completely unaware of.
Today, we’re going to show you how to get the most out of your Dropbox account:

4) Make Dropbox your default My Documents folder

If you use multiple computers, then you know how painful it is when you have a file on your home computer, only to leave the house and realize you don’t have access to the file when you need it on another computer. Instead of manually dragging and dropping files from your My Documents folder every time you need to access them on multiple systems, why not just make Dropbox your default My Documents folder?
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1) Right click on your My Documents folder and click on Properties.
Step 2) Navigate to the Location tab
Step 3) From here, you can choose the file path that you want to use instead of My Documents. Look for your Dropbox folder and use that

3) Set BitTorrent downloads to begin automatically from remote locations

If you like to run BitTorrent around-the-clock, then you don’t want to wait until you get home to start downloading new files. Fortunately, you can synch uTorrent to your Dropbox account and allow it to actively monitor a specific folder for any new torrent files. When you’re out of the house, just drag and drop .torrent files into that folder and you’re good to go.
Here’s how to do that:
Step 1) Open uTorrent and go to your Preferences section
Step 2) Navigate to the Directories section on the left hand side of the screen
Step 3) Uncheck the Show a window that displays the files inside the torrent option (this will allow downloads to start automatically)
Step 4) Check the Automatically load .torrents from: button and choose the directory where you will be saving .torrent files inside your Dropbox folder
Once you’ve done that, you can save any .torrent file to your chosen Dropbox directory and your BitTorrent client will automatically begin downloading it. This is great for when you’re out of the house and want to watch a new TV show or movie when you get home.

2) Keep track of all your computer passwords using KeePass

Thousands of PC users around the world use KeePass to manage their slew of online passwords. Ideally, you want this database to be accessible from all of your internet-connected devices, which means you should sync it with Dropbox.
To do that, follow these steps:
Step 1) Download and install KeePass
Step 2) During the installation, choose the Dropbox folder as the location of your Key file
Step 3) When you want to access KeePass from a new computer, click on File > Open Database and choose the synched KeePass database file that is in your Dropbox account.
You’re done! KeePass will always be accessible from your Dropbox account.

1) Send and receive files that are too large for email

If you’re sending a large attachment to a coworker or a friend, then email might not be what you need. Instead, there are a number of different third-party services that turn Dropbox into a powerful file sharing program.
DropItToMe stands out the most in terms of file sharing. It allows you to securely receive big files from anyone and have them delivered directly to your Dropbox. However, FileStork and AirDropper are also good options, and both services work in a similar way.
The advantage of all of these services is that you get to setup a one-time file transfer that is only available to you and one other person. Somebody can upload a large file to your Dropbox with just a few clicks, and the hassle-free experience could not be simpler.
